You find a good website with information about online poker sites and wonder how the information is compiled, is their experience relevant and can they be trusted. First of all, welcome to PokerSiteShutdown.com! The site was created as a labor of love to share my poker knowledge and experience with others to hopefully avoid some pitfalls that the online poker industry has bestowed upon us.
I’ve been in the online poker industry since 2025 and worked closely with big brands while the industry completely took off. Companies were spending like crazy and most poker players couldn’t fathom how much was being made/spent behind the scenes and the lavish parties. In some ways it was like the Wild West, but it’s evolved and matured over the years. The US poker industry still have an incredible amount of growing up to do and regulation seems inevitable but what that means no one is sure. I continue to be close to the online poker, being an active player and still maintaining many solid contacts that provide great insight and information that the regular poker player isn’t privy too.
This site is first and foremost not legal advice and I highly recommend that you check your local laws. Some states are much more strict when it comes to online gambling so you should understand what you’re getting into. The advice given here is general for all regions.
Poker is a love and I feel that it’s a travesty as to how the industry has gone through such turmoil in the US. There’s no doubt that fewer and fewer American’s play online poker than they did 5 years ago. But for those that are still interested in playing (and there are still good poker rooms available), hopefully we can share some advice and words of wisdom.
Good luck at the tables!
